Over the last few months, we’ve loved getting back out there and doing what we do best as the industry becomes increasingly active again. The Marketing Society has been the perfect platform to dust off our networking skills and the Dragonfly team has attended some fantastic events recently.

Inspiring force for our industry

The Marketing Society’s mission is to unite and inspire the marketing leaders of today and tomorrow, helping develop their careers while doing good within their organisations and wider society, and enabling marketing excellence and brave leadership.

Dragonfly became a member of The Marketing Society with the intention to get our name out there among other marketers, meeting new people, educating ourselves, and inspiring others with our knowledge and expertise in the process.

Endless education, events, and resources

The Marketing Society has such a huge range of topics that they cover through their events and online resources, and it has been our absolute pleasure to attend many already.

Online Event: Closing the intention-action gap on sustainability

Clare attended this interactive, cameras-on webinar on sustainability which covered the consumer opportunity, how to close the intention-action gap, how to avoid greenwashing and a practical interactive workshop to help drive behavioural shifts with consumers around sustainability. This is something we we are particularly passionate about, and Dragonfly is now B Corp Certified!

Live speaker event: Amplify

Sally, attended Amplify where she benefited from a wide range of insightful talks. The event was kicked off by The Marketing Society Chairman, Paul O’Donnell and the schedule included The Ogilvy Lecture, Celebrating Craft, and Clients v Agencies Creative Challenge.

In person event: Scottish Government

Ellie attended a special event at the Scottish Government, led by its Head of Marketing Jill Walker. The focus was on planning and implementing campaigns, and Ellie found herself surrounded by other very inspiring women all at similar stages in their career.

Networking event: Amplify

At the Amplify networking party last August, Isla was there to fly the flag for Dragonfly. As well as the opportunity to mix with with brilliant people from across our industry, there The Marketing Society provided plenty of amazing food, drinks and even comedians to keep everyone entertained.

What’s next?…

Next up, we’re about to begin our journey on the amazing Marketing Leaders Programme (MLP). In collaboration with Accenture Song, The Marketing Society has developed the MLP. This unique development experience helps to develop high potential marketers as they prepare to take on senior leadership roles. This is a key part of The Marketing Society’s global mission to develop great marketing leaders, and something we are excited for the team to be a part of.

We could not be more thrilled with energising and inspiring events and opportunities available to us as a member of The Marketing Society. We can’t wait to continue to develop and to meet more amazing, like-minded people along the way.
